Very helpful and friendly reception staff - arranged for a wake-up call and taxi (Euro €18, 15-20mins)for a 4am departure to the Airport, plus a great breakfast bag to take away because I was leaving before breakfast. Free drinking water in reception is a nice touch and the breakfast selection was pretty good too (included champagne available also - that and coffee get the day kick-started!). As befits the hotel’s long history on site, it’s an old style decor with lots of dark wood - I didn’t mind that, it’s quite stately and classy. Decent facilities in the lobby - the bar is a bit small but you don’t need it with so many good options in Zagreb - with a business/computer room and small library. Location is an easy 10 mins walk from the main Josip Jelacica square, so reasonably central but there are hotels more in the heart of the Zagreb action. That said, it’s 5 mins walk from the Central Train Station and 15 mins from the Central Bus Station, so it’s a great ‘all rounder’ location. There are nice, leafy parks close by, and a ‘Jagoda Market’ convenience store on the corner opposite for all your wine, beer, groceries etc. There are other bars and shops in the area too.

We were pleasantly surprised about the room, the breakfast and the parking. We arrived shortly before 14:00 - received a parking spot from the hotel, got an earlier check in and a slightly later check out when we left. We enjoyed the breakfast - had many options, everything in self service though. Staff was friendly. It’s an older hotel in an older style, but it was clean, comfortable and well maintained. We honestly expected it to be less nice - but in the end we were totally happy with our choice. We‘d stay there again.

The location was close to the city centre in just a few minutes by walk. The breakfast was amazing. Different variety of food. The fruit and oats jar with yoghurt and honey was so delicious. The room was adequate and had cold and hot water in the shower. The staff at the reception were also very helpful. Well done.

The location of the hotel was good -near the station and within walking distance of all main visitor attractions. The staff were friendly, courteous and plentiful! We were upgraded to a larger room which was great. Bedding and towels were good. Cleaning services good.

Just Awsome, great staff, parking opportunities, hotel Is in building from 1900 so just all is what represents Croatia. Staff was very welcoming , helpful and provided great info. With being able to check out at noon time Helped greatly. Definitely will recommend to anyone who travels Or needs to do any type of business.

The staff were amazing, so welcoming and helpful. I had had a very long delayed journey and hadn't had any food since breakfast. Although the kitchen was just about to close, they made me probably the very best veggie burger I've ever had. Service with a smile and nothing too much. Staff in the morning were cheerful and friendly and the girl on reception was only too happy to give me some tourist tips and book a taxi for me. Although the the rooms are smaller than I am used to, the service and kindness of the staff would entice me to return for a longer stay.

Very nice city hotel for business trip or just city break visiting. I enjoyed accommodation and staff service. Breakfast offer was very tasty and you can choose from many options. Many international tourists here.

Although the facilities seem outdated, I enjoyed the Room. It is clean and convenient. Of course, If you are planning to stay only in the room you might find it a little cramped. The Staff is absolutely amazing! So unbelievably friendly and supportive. You will never have a boring time with this amazing staff thank you Marina, Valentina, Josip and the rest. I will definitely come back. The location is convenient and if you use taxi/ app taxis there is a holding bay in front of the hotel.

While I travel frequently and widely, it is not often that hotel staff exceed expectations. I can only give a positive review for the Best Western Astoria (and especially its staff) due to their extreme professionalism and genuine smile during all interactions. Due to a late departing flight I requested a 1h late check-out; I was generously given 2h which was greatly appreciated. During the second day of my stay I had a slight issue with the temperature in the room (417) and I was once more immediately sent a portable radiator which resolved the problem. Very helpful all around. Finally, other than the superb location, I must note that the breakfast is magnificent and the breakfast staff are well-trained and helpful.
